Ophelia in Armor Final by bmesias063 Ophelia in Armor Final by bmesias063
Reguested by :iconmortalshinobi: for his favorite character in Claymore Anime, Ophelia. He requested to have her wearing an armor, so I make one that can be justified and not hinder the claymore's agility and sword skills.

Most of the armor design I got from Fire Emblem: Awakening. I great thanks for that awesome anime game.;) The armor shown in this artwork will be part of the side fiction I made with :iconthesilentchloey:, named, "A Phantom's Trilogy".

"A Phantom's Trilogy", is a side fiction made for Claymore and in particular, with "Phantom Miria Trilogy", a story done by :icondarklordrevan5:.

"A Phantom's Trilogy" is a claymore story focusing on the three hybrids, Chloey de Lupia, Miata Hapsburg, and Princesse Natalie de Beauharnais. The story includes mystery, parasitic monsters, and the mysterious organization, the Neo-Org.

This is phenomenal! I may not know the character in question but you manage to make this character's eyes show a genuine happiness and joy despite the lack of detail in the face. You put it in all the right places. Also your armor work is just the best. I really like it. This is definitely one my favorites.

Honestly, I can remember first watching Claymore and hating the guts out of Ophelia, but I don't hate artwork of her :3

I think you should draw her neck twisted, it's more anatomically correct that way. :D

I see. So you're having other accounts then. But come' on, you know I'm not used in making male characters. So that one could be an exercise in making male characters with the correct male body features. I'm fortunate that you commented with it. It's really good for me that you give corrections of what I need to improve.:)

I wonder how much wasted potential claymores had to undergo not having barely any functionable and practical armor or defensive equipment...

That is one thing Yagi didn't think at all. Perhaps being a superhuman of the hybrids gives Yagi confidence that armor is not needed. But really, even being hybridized, a warrior needs armor. This is common sense, esp. if the armor used is that metal used in their swords. Remember that their swords didn't break or got a dent, while not use it in the armor?

Yes, females in very good armor that not only protects them but also shows them sexy is very charming. And I hate ornamental armour, armour that is there to be a decoration than protection.

Even so even basic Chainmail of a good alloy like that of their almost indestructable swords protecting the most important part that was COMPLETELY exposed ( the stomach chest area) but the effect of awakening does most of the time destroy their armor(that they do have) and their clothing but I mean even adult Raki suited up with Banded plate/leather armor

Btw, the artwork presents an armout suit without the belly armour. It is rather placed by a padded leather. Claymores can choose to add armour in their bellies.;)

Why not make an armor that allows body expansion at a certain stress (at least not being an awakened form whrer the armor joints will basically snap). But by assessment on the anime and even in manga, warriors never gets bigger in the torso area when trying to obtain heavy mass. The thing that usually change is the limbs, but the stomach and the chest remained the same.

Yes, at least chainmail or padded leather can give some matter of protection. Or perhaps a belly armour can work too (Ye, I make a belly armour version waiting to be posted. It is the same concept as to the artwork shown but with the addition of an armour in the belly area. I made it is a way that still didn't hamper movement and makes the wearer remain sexy and seductive looking). Belly armours with the metal like that of their sword will avoid that attacks Claire got in the first part of the story (Remember her being impaled by that hand of the youma, then Rubel said that such portions are vital and can kill a hybrid. Why not reinforce armour on such area?).

Exactly I was about to point that part of the story out as well. Its very unpractical that the only armored parts of their body was the forearms shoulders, hips, clavicals(neck area) and the feet and shins  leaving all the organs and entire torso exposed for attack, Albiet the paladin dude who was buddies with the rogue his platemail was peirced by the veracious eater's extendable talons, but he survived it and he was just a normal(soldier) human and undoubtedly the armor took some of the force from an otherwise lethal blow.

Yes. It is a waste they made. To think they can afford to put armour in not so vital areas but cannot make a way to at least protect  those vital parts exposed. I mean they should have those remove instead because the whole armour dressing is totally a piece of thrash considering where they place those things in the body. I still cannot think they cannot use the metal that made their swords, just amazing they can't. And remember that females have cumbersome weight in the chest...can they at least make a way to support those weights because I myself can think those things unsupported are really a nuisance to movement. I mean no woman today want their melons bouncing when they run, jog, or punch right. I see the illogical way the Org tries to portray not having their warriors attend that basic need.

I would have to agree with you on that one...I for one see mine as getting in the way a lot of the time...even with the use of brassiere they're still in the way >.>

Sorry for that, but at least I hit the point.:)  I am hoping that at least an armour can hold the melons in placce while the hybrids are fighting. I don't want to get their melons hang loose because they didn't put brassiere in it. It's not nice to see loosed "melons" and they're not even yet mothers...they got it because of constant bouncing due to their profession as warriors.

Also it may be the fact that even making the swords was extremely difficult or expensive and making practical full body(but allowing good movement like Field plate armor) the in Manga(anime) Organization seen as a waste since they figured claymores as expendible soldiers or just temporary as they eventualy awakend

Well, that could be a good idea. but it defeats the purpose of looking for a potential super hybrid they eager to achieve if they neglect the very basic need of a soldier...protection. Or they are hoping that somehow, claymores will learn to rely not on armour. But if they can put armour in their shoulders and hip then it's very  stupid enough not to put armour in the very vital human parts. I mean, they should have then remove those cumbersome metals in the shoulder or hip afterall if they are aiming for teaching the warriors not to depend on armour but on agility. Being even heavy makes agility reduced severely.

Well they also have the Dragonkin tribe they had to contend with and since they havent faught one we havent even seen how strong they are who knows? maybe even their "indestructable" swords can be damaged against the their hides or something.

At least they got descent armour than just a decoration. But now I don't know if what are the dragonkin's power now, considering that Yagi overpowered much of his characters in the island. What would these "dragons" could be capable with, destroying the whole world? I think he really overpowers his characters that dragonkins are expected to be either very strong, or a scapegoat talk just to give reason as to why there are hybrids. Well, they should have put Teresa of the Faint Smile or Priscilla in the mainland already.

Thanks!!! I am glad you like the armor. This will be the armor I'll use for hybrids because it seems that it fits to their agility and fighting skills. Of course, I intended Ophelia to be cute-looking and innocent because she is posing herself, like somebody shot a picture to her. But well, you can make her to her menacing look as she always gives to her victims.;)

Well, she is always smiling menacingly. And that gets you hook on her.;) Actually, there will be more design added in the armor for this one (llike some additional designs in the breastplate), but because I'm out of time for the dadline of this, so I posted this one. Still it has the design that one can be amazed. Besides, so detailed design is a killer if you do it in a manga or anime stuff. It is only better in illustrations or in 3d animations.

Thanks! I thought the artwork was lacking in some decorations and armour design because I just putting simplification and focus on drawing the structure of the armour, and disregarding some ornamental designs in it. But I guess, this will turn to be a great coloured art, even without the ornamental armour designs.
